IT Technician 

Background 

Lemar previously worked as a Level 1 Associate at Amazon, where he had no prior experience in IT or computer support. He wanted to move into a technical role and build a long-term career in IT. 

He chose to upskill through ITOL Recruit to gain recognised certifications and the support needed to transition into the tech industry. 

Training Experience 

Lemar completed the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA A+ Lab Technician certifications. He found the learning flexible and accessible, allowing him to study at times that suited his schedule. 

The structured content, combined with hands on labs and tutor support, helped him build confidence and practical technical skills from the ground up. 

Applying the Skills at Work 

Through the programme, Lemar developed the technical knowledge and professional skills needed to move into an IT support role. The recruitment support helped him understand how to prepare for interviews, present himself professionally, and stand out to employers. 

The combination of technical training and career guidance played a key role in his successful transition. 

Life After ITOL Recruit 

After three interviews, Lemar secured a role as an IT Technician at VoCoVo, where he works configuring and supporting communication systems for large retail organisations. He was due to start his role on 1 August 2025. 

The programme enabled him to move into a role aligned with his interests and long-term career goals.
